Hotel Rwanda

This movie, Hetel Rwanda, is my second time watching it. However, watching for second time I understood things that I couldn’t understand before and it was uncommon. This movie was eerie to me because the violence happened every single scenes which is a basically truce story that happened. In this movie Paul, the hotel manager didn’t give up his hope and work hard to save his family even lots of people were hovering with a fear. This gave me a great impact on saving other one’s race which was their enemy.

The Echo Elf Answers by Thomas Hardy

How much shall I love her?

For life, or not long?

“Not long.”

Alas! When forget her?

In years, or by June?

“By June.”

And whom woo I after?

No one, or a throng?

“A throng.”

Of these shall I wed one

Long hence, or quite soon?

“Quite soon.”

And which will my bride be?

The right or the wrong?

“The wrong.”

And my remedy – what kind?

Wealth-wove, or earth-hewn?

“Earth-hewn.”

I choose this poem because it sounds very cute and lovely but tragic if you understand this poem. I like the way of how author used the echoes in this poem. I privately interpret this poem and found out that the person in this poem is going to marry what he didn’t expect it to be. I think he has someone he truly loves but the lady who he is marrying is not the one that he loves. Maybe some other people like his parent are forcing him to marry with this lady. It shows that he is worrying what he should do and decides to forget his lover. This poem sounds one side of drama which is very tragic fate.
1. What do you think this poem is about?
2. Why do you think the author used echoes in his poem?
3. What will be the relationship between the title and the poem?

My Homework by Michael Rawlinson

Sometimes my homework is small
Sometimes my homework is long
But whenever I do my homework
My homework is always wrong

Sometimes I do my homework at a slow pace
Sometimes I do my homework in the fast lane
But however I do my homework
my homework is still a pain

Sometimes my homework is easy
Sometimes my homework is hard
But whenever I can't do my homework
I feel like a retard

I like this poem because I agree what he’s telling to me. It seems like the author is telling my life about homework. Whenever I have homework, my head is bumping out, whenever I have homework, I’m wrestling with one, whenever I do homework, there’s no right answer and whenever I do my homework, I misunderstood…-_-… This weekend I have a lot of homework. Not just only me! Whole sophomores are suffering with homework that teachers gave. I eagerly want to request to the teachers, “Please don’t give bunch of homework at a same time!”

There's a Worm in My Apple by James Stevenson

There's a worm in my apple,
a bug in my pear,
a beetle has managed
to get in my hair,
I swatted the gnat
that was nipping my ear,
and a hornet is buzzing
uncomfortably near.

The ants in the kitchen
are stealing the bread,
while a mouse sets up housekeeping
under my bed,
wherever I look
I encounter a moth,
and a fly just dexided
to dive in the broth.

There's a spider outside
that would like to move in,
a pair of mosquitoes
are riddling my chin,
the rat in the attic's
determinded to stay,
I'm facing a farily
pestiferous day.

This poem sounded very funny to me and it makes me feel grouse because I could imagine yucky insects all over the place, everywhere this person goes. I think this poem is about insects are living in this person’s house which makes this person terrify. It also can be some kind of villa besides the mountain instead of a house. The certain thing is that this person hates insects because of the last sentence. I think author wrote this poem, maybe because it’s part of his memory that he has been experienced. It made me to realize my experience. At the dinner time, my mom cooked spinach soup which was one of my favorite soap. However I didn’t know there was a bug inside of my soup because spinach was green that covered a bug. Also, bug was hiding under the spinach. When I ate spinach soup I suddenly saw it. Something greenish chubby thing that didn’t looked like spinach. That was my last day eating spinach soup. Anyway this experience came to my mind. I like this poem because how author is expressing the sight of the different kind of situations of the insects is very creative.
